Netanyahu calls for ‘complete’ defeat of Hamas as Israel considers total Gaza occupation

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday said that only a “complete” defeat of Hamas would secure the release of the the remaining hostages, while the UN said that Israel’s reported consideration of a total occupation of Gaza risks “catastrophic consequences” for both the Palestinians and captives within the besieged enclave.
